What is drag-n-drive?

A drag-n-drive event combines drag racing with the classic roadtrip. Vehicles will run three separate time trial events over two days at two different tracks using the same vehicle they run on track to take them to the next without the use of a tow rig, trailer or support vehicles. There will be separate classes for varying vehicle types and level of modification with trophies awarded to the top finishers in each category.  Bring your friends and family, make a bunch of passes down some great local tracks and see the backroads of Ontario.

Driver/Vehicle Requirements

-All driver's must have a valid driver's license (G or equivalent)

-All vehicles must be plated and provide proof of insurance and fit ownership with matching license plate. No dealer, or manufacturer plates.

-Tire rules associated with classes are strictly for on track basis. Tires may be swapped for street driving.

-All entered vehicles must use a slick, DOT slick or drag radial on driven tires while on track (unless otherwise stated in class specific rules)

-All drivers are responsible for having proper safety gear that meet the elasped time/speed requirements they intend to run. This is for both vehicle and driver and includes drivers having proper WDRA, NHRA or IHRA licenses in addition to their provincial drivers license where applicable. Please refer to WDRA rules, as both participating tracks are WDRA sanctioned.

-All helmets must be Snell approved. No DOT helmets allowed on track. Convertibles require a helmet regardless of elasped time.

-All vehicles will be checked for working lights. Headlights are required and must be of OEM design.

-Vehicles may use any fuel type (unless otherwise stated in class specific rules)

-All participants (driver and crew) must sign a liability waiver and photo release

-It is driver's and crew's responsibility to adhere to all rules during the event. Passing tech does not guarantee that if rule violations are discovered later that an entrant may not be disqualified.

Disqualified entries are not eligible for refund of fees.

Conduct

Unsportsmanlike or unsafe conduct including, but not limited to drivers being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will result in immediate disqualification or possibly banned from future events.

Pre-Race

-All entries must be pre paid and pre registered. They will receive their credentials upon entering the facility and must pass through tech inspection before being allowed on track.

-All entries are final, non-transferable and non-refundable.

-Each vehicle may only compete in one class.

-There will be pit parking available for anyone towing their race vehicle to the event, however your tow rig will be off limits as of the start of the event (10am) when the first pair goes down the track. The only exception being if a participant were to drop out of the event due to breakage etc. -Any use of tow vehicles for any reason including grabbing tools or parts will result in disqualification. There will be a number to call if the need to forfeit arises.

-Drivers may bring as many crew/passengers as seatbelts allow. In fact, it’s encouraged. No passengers switching between vehicles during event.

Rainout Policy

As stated previously driver's entries are non-refundable and every option will be considered when it comes to completing the event. Including changing schedules or number of runs required.

Protests

All protests must be made prior to event start (10am) when first pair goes down the track. Rules to be inforced at race director’s discretion. All decisions final.

Support Vehicles and Working on Vehicles

-All vehicles must be driven under their own power for the entirety of the event.

-All tow/support vehicles must be left at the first track and are not to be used for any reason until completion of final day. Unless forfeiting the event.

-Any vehicle either entered or not entered in the event that is clearly being used to supply an entered vehicle with support from either tools, parts, fuel or man power is prohibited and could result in disqualification for entrants.

-All tools, parts and fuel to be used during event must be transported using the vehicle entered.

-Any vehicle that gets towed on route or at the track by another vehicle (other than for immediate safety reasons) will be subject to disqualification.

-Only the driver and passengers of the entered vehicle may work on the vehicle.

-Drivers and crew of other teams may still assist by letting other teams borrow items to fix their broken race vehicles as needed provided it doesn't become excessive. This is up to race director's discretion. Ask if in doubt.

-A single axle trailer towed behind the entered race vehicle to carry supplies will be allowed. The trailer must not contribute to cooling, charging, oiling or fueling the race vehicle while being towed.

The Routes

-All drivers will follow a specified route to the next race facility. If any deviation is made for breakage, fuel stop, food etc. All drivers must rejoin the route from where they left it.

-The route will consist of checkpoints where a photo of the race vehicle must be taken to continue to the next stage of the event. A smartphone (or very least a digital camera with screen) is required.

On Track

-Track time will be open format, with Hard Tire, Tailgaters and Midnight on Marketplace classes starting 1 hour after staging lanes open. Allowing our sticky tired cars an opportunity at the fresh racing surface before hard tire cars run.

-Three hours into the on track time, drivers will be able to hand in their timeslips to the scorekeeper. Two timeslips are required (at each session at each track, for a total of six over the entirety of the event) So make as many runs as you like and pick your best two to hand in.

-Upon handing in/logging your times with the scorekeeper, you will be given the day's routemap and may leave for the next track.

-Upon reaching the next track you will have to show proof of checkpoints before entering the facility.

-The event end this year is NOT the third open session, but rather entering the front gates at the final destination. If a vehicle finishes the last session, but does not complete the last drive, it will result in a DNF regardless of their average times.

Camping

-Camping is allowed at the race facilities.

-After race officially starts (lanes open day one) you must carry all your camping gear with your entered vehicle for the remainder of event.

-Prior to event start you may stay in your RV/trailer or whatever. All rigs can stay at the host track for the event.
